Help Us to Help the Club
Volunteers and Sponsors Required

Cambridge United has a tradition of being a friendly, community club where everyone is involved and respected. That feeling has been partly lost over the last few years, the new board and CFU can bring it back but only with your help.

We need to support the staff of the club so they can get on with their jobs and use their skills in the best ways. Running the club takes a huge amount of work behind the scenes. United’s financial position is such that to keep the excellent people we have, for a while we need volunteers to cover most of the jobs listed below. For some of the match day jobs a payment is available, but however you can help please get in touch.

It’s your club.

Thanks to Our Sponsor

We urge CUFC fans to support the local businesses that are donating to the club:

Abbey Aid Volunteers

There is an open meeting in the Ruston Room at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday 2nd March at 8pm to discuss the progress of the forthcoming Abbey Aid concerts. They will take place on 26th and 27th May and anybody who wishes to help with organizing and supporting the event is welcome to attend.

Directors Nick Pomery and Paul Barry have stressed recently what a crucial part the concerts will play in keeping the club going through the summer months and, depending how successful they are, the income from the concerts could also increase the playing budget for next season as the club attempts to regain Football League status.

Commercial Manager Heather Wilkanowski commented, “We have been working on the background and set up of the concerts since last summer, and we are now at the stage of being ready to announce the dates and artists in order to start heavily promoting the concerts.

“Since the AGM several people have contacted me offering to help in different ways because they understand just how important it is to the club that Abbey Aid is a success.

“The meeting on Thursday evening is aimed at putting together a working party to assist me with the organisation prior to and actually over the weekend of the event, and also to update people on the details of how Abbey Aid will run.

“I would like to thank people in advance for their support.”

If you feel you could help but are unable to attend Thursday evening please contact Heather on 01223 729206.
